Our commitment to inclusive design
Our Commitment
Observer Prime is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to all readers, regardless of ability or technology. We believe that rigorous journalism should be available to everyone.
Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Our design system uses sufficient colour contrast, semantic HTML, and keyboard-navigable components throughout the interface.
Typography & Readability
Editorial content is rendered in a high-contrast serif typeface at a minimum body size of 16px with a line height of 1.7, designed for extended reading sessions. We avoid auto-playing media, flashing content, and excessive motion.
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements, including navigation, article cards, and editorial controls, are fully accessible via keyboard. Focus states are visible and meet contrast requirements.
Known Limitations
We are an evolving platform. Some user-generated content may not meet our accessibility standards. We encourage contributors to include descriptive alt text for all images and to structure their articles with appropriate headings.
Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please contact us at editorial@observerprime.tech. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days.
